WHAT TO SEE

  • Salto De Jimenoa

Salto de Jimenoa is a protected area and waterfall known as Salto de Jimenoa 2. There is also Salto de Jimena 1, which requires a steep hike that takes about 30 minutes to go down and 45 minutes to get back up. The way up will be harder but worth it if you enjoy hiking and mountain scenery.

Please note swimming is not allowed because of the depths and currents.

  • Baiguate Waterfall

Baiguate is Carolyn's favorite waterfall. It has shallow waters (during the dry season) that empty into the Baiguate River. You can walk under the waterfall during the dry season but can't swim since the water is about 2 feet high. In the wet season, the water level rises and you can have a proper swim in the natural pool. A small/easy hike is required to get you to the waterfall.

  • La Confluencia

La Confluencia is a waterfront park where two of the area's rivers–the Jimenoa and the Yaque del Norte–merge and create mini pools amid the rocks. There are also horses for rent, which is ideal for family rides around the waterfront park area.

  • Baiguate Lodge

Baiguate Lodge offers all types of outdoor activities and excursions in Jarabacoa such as river rafting, canyoning and much more

  • Rancho Miel

Rancho Miel is a small farm known for its fruit and vegetable plantation and small petting zoo, which is perfect for kids.
